For the past 27 years, Beacon Sixth Form have sent out groups of teenagers to go to The Gambia to experience the culture of a country very different to ours but to also help villages out there improve. In previous years they have built heath centres, schools and improved the standard of living for so many people. This year, I will be going along on the trip alongside 100 other people my age. Whilst there, I will have the privilege of meeting the residents of Jiroff village, a village that has only been visited once before by Beacon. I need to bring £500 out with me to help support the work in both Jiroff and the other villages that we visit in The Gambia. Any money that is donated will go directly to these villages and I will be able to see the direct improvements from this money.
