I will be part of team from Greenshaw High School who will take part in a 21 day expedition to Zambia to improve a school for orphans. The project is important as the school has difficulty attracting teachers due to its location in rural Zambia. Our work will include: cooking, cleaning, teaching pupils and generally improving the school’s facilities for its pupils and teachers.

This expedition will also be a life changing event for me, because I will experience, first hand, the difficulties orphans in Zambia face. We will also be ‘wild camping’ (trekking and setting up camp) as well as sleeping in traditional Zambian mud huts, and living without the luxuries we are used to in England.
