Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
On the 1st of December I am going to join the good people of Doorways for a sponsored sleep out on the market place in Derby.
We will be sleeping as many less fortunate people do in the elements.
i volunteered for the first time tonight and felt such warmth from the volunteers and from the homeless people they were helping by providing a hot meal and some basic supplies.
PLEASE DONATE WHAT YOU CAN AS THESE GOOD PEOPLE RELY ON DONATIONS FROM BUSINESSES AND FROM THE PUBLIC, AS THEY HAVE NO FUNDING FROM ANYWHERE ELSE.
Doorways Derby
Providing food, clothing and conversation to the vulnerable in Derby.
We are a group of community volunteers dedicating several evenings a week to go onto the streets of Derby to provide hot and cold food, drinks, clothing, bedding and social interaction for the homeless, rough sleepers, and vulnerable people who need our help.
Food is generously donated from many people and organisations within the City, and we have a number of volunteers who support us with the hot and cold food preparation on a regular basis.
Since starting in May 2015, we have built up a close bond with many of the people who need our support through taking time just to listen to what they want to tell us. We are also committed to complementing and working with the other agencies and organisations within the City who have responsibilities for the homeless and rough sleeper population.
You can find out more about our activities on our Blog, or visit our Facebook page.

6 years agoI just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has kindly donated their hard cash to my cause, your generosity warms the cockles. And to those who haven't had the chance to donate you've got til This Saturday (1ST) to make a massive difference in peoples lives who have taken a different path than us either by bad life choices or by having the choices taken out of their hand ended on living on the street and been left behind by society. We are all only 7 months of mortgage arrears to ending up in a similar position ourselves!

Every homeless person, in every Town in every County should have people like you helping them and not judging them. I am humbled by what you do.
