    Story

Hi, you are reading this because one of our members has shared our group with you.

We are Jeffreys Bikers! in May of 2021 a 4 year old little boy from Accrington, Lancashire was diagnosed with Battens Disease.

I had never heard of it, so i looked into it and was horrified, as a parent/grandfather i couldnt imagine what the family of this little lad, Jeffrey Charleswoth were going through.

So I decided to help, and I got in touch and asked if they were ok with me setting up a charity bike ride, they agreed.

So through the power of social media I reached out to the biker community and set about coming up with a plan.

We craeted a mascot Jeff DaBear, a biker bear, and put a plan together to carry him around the coast of the UK, being passed from biker to biker, strangers who had never met, and who had no connection with a 4 year old boy from Accrington.

These wonderful people took the cause to their hearts, they carried Jeff DaBear all around the UK, he had marvelous adventures on the way, and everyone who got to carry the bear agreed it was "something special", they all treat the bear as though it was young Jeffrey, they all gave him hugs, and that little bear carried all of that hope and love with him around this wonderful country.

Sheryl Lawson and Andrew Charlesworth, soon became overwhelmed at the love and messages they received, in their own words it gave them something else to focus on in those early days of diagnosis.

When the ride was complete, Jeff DaBear went to live with the little boy he was made for, and he accompanies the family EVERYWHERE, they treat him as a member of the family, he has become much more than a teddy bear.....

we managed to raise £11000 to help this young family and out of that we paid for the family to visit Santa in Lapland, as well as pay for equipment for young Jeffrey

Seeing first hand how much one little stuffed toy helped make a difference to them as a family, this year we are doing it all again, but we are going to deliver a Biker Bear to every family struggling with this awful disease, as well as Jeff DaBear Jnr making the same trip as his dad did all arounf the UK carrying the message and rasing awareness of Battens Disease.......

im not going to explain what Battens is here, on purpose, if you do one thing after reading this.....google it..........then you will want to join our group, and help me and my Brother & Sister Bikers deliver some Love and hope in the shape of a BIker Bear to children and families that need it

Please join our group and see what we are trying to achieve, you dont even have to give money if you dont want, but a post a like and a share can help us carry the message

thank You for taking the time to read all of this

A Fat Lad, just going on a ride with his Brothers and Sisters!
