A number of people in my community are socially isolated and suffering mental ill health. We provide a drop-in centre where they can come and socialise three days per week. The centre is seen as a home away from home and they have stressed the need to have access to two more days activities at the centre. Social interaction and meaningful activity are crucial to good mental and physical health. This project will enable the poorest, most isolated local people get physically, mentally and socially active, to improve their health and wellbeing on every level. The funds will pay for activities and a half time project co-ordinator to oversee the smooth running of the project.
