Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
On 27 October 2017 my son Toby, then aged 19, was involved in a road traffic accident. He was airlifted straight to Hull Royal Infirmary where he underwent emergency surgery to release pressure on the brain. He also received various fractures including his jaw and cheekbones which were operated on at a later stage. After staying in intensive care at Hull and Pilgrim Hospital, Boston he was transferred to Ashby Ward at Lincoln County Hospital which is a specialist rehab unit. He is still there and his progress has amazed everyone. He is now talking and building up the strength in his limbs. There are some downsides - his short term memory is poor and the part of the brain that affects his eyesight is damaged. Nobody knows how good a recovery Toby will make but with the help of his fantastic team at Ashby he isn't stopping yet!!! On 1 July Lillia and I and anyone else who wants to join us, will attempt to walk 26 miles on the organised walk called "Walk with the Baron for brain injuries'. Lillia has her own health issues and I prefer to have a pint and a book, so going to be a challenge for us both. Thank you for sponsoring us. Any donation helps. Jeanette and Lillia
Toby is now doing his part. He will be cycling 26 miles on the exercise bike at the ward. However unlike us he is doing a little every day. Sounds a far more sensible plan!!!!
