Changing Lanes runs recovery support groups across East Cheshire for people like myself who want to change their lives and rid the stigma surrounding addiction. With them I have successfully completed training in Group Facilitation, Counselling Concepts and Recovery Coaching.
I now volunteer as a facilitator for Changing Lanes and hope that I convey a positive message to those people who think there is no hope for them. Having stared death in the face and beaten it away, I know I have a lot to contribute. I am & will always be eternally grateful to Changing Lanes & the various agencies which helped me turn my life around. I want to do as much as I can to help others do the same.
Changing Lanes are a self supported organisation and are in desperate need of funding. By way of me paying back to both them and the community, I will be stepping way outside of my comfort zone by piloting an aeroplane in a bid to help raise much needed funds for them, so they may continue their amazing work. This will involve me taxiing the aircraft from the hangar and onto the runway, assisted take off and 1 hours flying before making an assisted landing and taxi the aircraft back to the hangar. I have never dreamt about doing anything like this ever before and am pleading for your sponsorship.
