Jedi Saves Seals:

This is Oliver. He’s 11. In December 2019, he decided to grow his Jedi Braid (after his clip on one snapped). Eighteen months and one trim later, it’s 10 inches long, and it’s time for the Padawan (trainee) to become a Master Jedi.

He wants it to be worthwhile - and told his Dad he’d do it for £500. So that’s his target.

Anyone who knows Ol, knows how much he is into Star Wars and animals. All of the money he raises will go to the Tynemouth Seal Hospital.

For more than 10 years, the aquarium has been working to provide immediate rescue for seal pups. They work to rehabilitate seals, and have created a rescue centre offering emergency care for seal pups, as well as other marine life that washes up on our Tyne and Wear coast.

The Seal Hospital is a purpose-built rescue facility where the necessary care and treatments for sick, injured, and abandoned seal pups and other marine life is provided. Since 2017, when the hospital took the first seal pup in, they’ve rescued 104 seals, the majority of which have been released back into the wild, after treatment.

Each seal requires veterinary attention, feeding and ongoing care - and often medication. None of which is cheap, so all of the money raised will be going directly to the hospital to support their work.
