Autism awareness day brings me my biggest physical challenge yet! On 2nd April 2017 I will taking part in the Manchester Marathon to raise funds for the amazing service provided by Understanding Autism North West (UANW)
UANW is a therapeutic service providing counselling for both adults and children on the autism spectrum and their family members. Myself and Jan Livesey founded this service and work endlessly to ensure it can continue. As therapists with personal and professional experience, knowledge and understanding of autism we know how crucial it is for individuals to be understood from a different neurological perspective in order to benefit from a therapeutic intervention.
This service needs to made readily available to those who need it when they need it, however funding is extremely difficult to access in order to secure it.
