This is for Jessy, our 9 year old Springer Spaniel. She was rescued last year from a poor life in Ireland which ended with her in the dog pound, awaiting rescue or the other unthinkable option. We believe she is about 9 years old. It is understand she was always kept outside and has her tail docked very very short. When she was rescued her coat was very matted, so she had to have a drastic haircut! This uncovered a cancerous growth on her left elbow. The rescue society paid for her surgery and then she came to us. Now the growth has regrown and spread to the right elbow. These lumps need to be removed sooner rather than later and my vet has indicated this will cost around £500. The charity who rescued her said they would cover vet costs if it came back. But, my dilemma is - If we ask them to pay, then that money is taken away from them rescuing other dogs. So this is why I'm taking this step of asking for help. Jessy has improved our lives in such an incredible way and I'm so glad we can give her the 'retirement' she deserves. I would hate to think other dogs were not saved because they paid for this operation. If they do pay, then we can give this money raised on here, back to them to help in their future work.
