Story
In the summer of 2018, myself and 15 student nurses across all fields studying @Teesside University will be partaking in an international nursing placement in Cambodia supporting the charity Transform Healthcare Cambodia; who provide healthcare education, training and clinical expertise to support Cambodian colleagues.
In the mid 1970's, Pol Pot lead the communist forces into the Cambodian capital city, beginning a genocidal four-year regime in which an estimated two million Cambodians lost their lives; including all intellectuals and educated people, completely destroying the health care system. Since this time Cambodia has strove to develop and improve healthcare provision for the populous, and our aim is to support the above charity and Cambodian colleagues in achieving there ultimate goal of relieving sickness and to promote and protect good health for the benefit of the public, in particular the Battambang Province.
Along with a number of fundraising activities which i will keep everyone updated on, I am hoping that any kind donations will help me partake in such a valuable experience.
Thank you to anyone who has taken time to read my story, jocelyn x
