After complaining of headaches since March last year, Lee was sent for an MRI scan by his GP.
On Friday 18th November he was told that he had a brain tumour and was admitted into Coventry hospital as an emergency patient. Lee needed a biopsy to determine what type of tumour he had. The surgery did not go to plan and as a result Lee has a large 7 inch scar on the back of his head and he now has problems with his vision.
On 22nd December Lee was told that he had a malignant brain tumour. The tumour is inoperable due to its size and location covering the occipital and parietal lobes. The tumour is also very close to the motor so there is no chance of surgery to remove or reduce its size. Lee is currently at home waiting for a further scan to help the oncologist decide on the amount of radiation needed to treat the tumour. The radiation will hopefully reduce the size of the tumour and prolong Lee’s life expectancy.
Lee is currently back at home, but the combination of medication he is on and the side effects from the surgery is severely affecting his strength and balance. Unfortunately, Lee has passed out and fallen on several occasions resulting in severe bruising to his shoulder, ribs, hand and he has cut his shin and knee. As Lee is already struggling with walking up and down the stairs and we know that the radiotherapy and potential chemotherapy will cause further problems, we have made the decision that we need to have a downstairs toilet put into the garage.

Previously, Lee was in the army for 16 years. He left in Dec 2012 as a Sergeant in the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers. Lee had a successful career and fought in the Iraq and Afghan wars. He is always up for an adventure and challenge. His job took him all over the world. He competed in the army skiing championships and also completed 46 sky diving jumps.
After leaving the army, Lee took on the Chips Away Redditch franchise and ran a successful business in the area with a loyal customer base.
