**UPDATE** NHS Wales have overturned the decision and John will now go in for his operation at 8am Tuesday morning (11th oct). We're over the moon!! And will keep John in our thoughts as he undergoes the 6 hour operation, and will update here on the page as we hear anything.

John Prescott, a well-known Tom Jones impersonator has only months to live as the Welsh NHS has refused funding for a life-saving heart operation.

On 6th Oct John and his partner were given the devistating news that the operation will not go ahead and that the Welsh NHS are refusing funding, so this page was set up and musicians and entertainers from all over the country rallied around organising events to raise money. some of those events will still go ahead and will now be raising money to help John financially.

In order for him to survive, John’s consultants have told him he needs a LVAD (left ventricular assist device) fitted as a bridge towards having a heart transplant. An LVAD is a kind of artificial heart pump that is used to treat people with severe heart failure. John’s heart is too weak to pump enough blood around the body.

UPDATE ABOUT DONATIONS: We would like to go ahead and forward the moneys donated to John and his family to help them financially through what has been a very difficult time.
