    Story

Jordan's diagnosis of terminal brain cancer has brought an already tight knit family closer than can ever be imagined and this is primarily down to Jordan who has had an unwavering, unselfish, positive mindset throughout what has been an extremely challenging year and a half.

My self, Ryan and oldest brother Austin stood side by side with Jordan's amazing wife Debbie as he underwent a gruelling eight hour awake craniotomy and remained at his bedside throughout the following days which saw Jordan admitted to the critical care unit due to uncontrollable seizures.

Harder than the surgery and the experience in critical care was recieving the news that none of the tumour was removed during the craniotomy. This news has a profound negative effect on the family but as is his character Jordan took this weight across his broad shoulders and refocused everyone with an inspiring positive attitude and sense of humour.

Since leaving hospital Jordan has embarked on a course of radio and chemotherapy however after his third round of treatment MRI scans revealed that the tumour had not decreased in size nor had it grown any which medical experts classed as stable. Again Jordan looked at only the positive aspect of this news that treatment had stopped the tumour in his brain in its tracks.

Jordan has now paused his NHS treatment which in turn has started the military process of moving him towards medical discharge from the RAF Regiment with whom he has served for 20 years. Now is also the right time for Jordan to explore other treatments in an attempt to extend his life with his wife and two beautiful children Sam and Grace. Possible treatments suitable to treating Jordan's exact tumour are generally conducted outside the UK and as you can imagine expensive which is where his brothers come in.

Austin and I will cycle from my house in Kilmaurs East Ayrshire to Jordan's house in Bury St Edmunds between the 13th and 16th of September 18 which is roughly a 460 mile journey in order to raise funds and awareness for Jordan's potential treatment. Jordan will join them in the support car for moral support and they will travel to RAF camps throughout the country on their way South.

All money raised will either be used for Jordan's treatment or given to the brain cancer charity in order to help research and others in similar medical positions. Anyone who wishes to join the cycle for part of the route is more than welcome. Full information of the following days route will be posted on Jordan's Face Book and this site by 2100 the night before, including a detailed route for the day, timings and ideal feeding stations on route.

    The basic planned route is:

13 Sep Kilmaurs to RAF Spadeadam (Cumbria)

14 Sep RAF Spadeadam to RAF Leeming (Yorkshire)

15 Sep RAF Leeming to RAF Cranwell (lincolnshire )

16 Sep RAF Cranwell to RAF Honington (Suffolk)

Any riders out there that would like to join in on a leg or just a spin for an hour or so are most welcome, but please bear in mind that you must be self sufficient.

For those of you who know Jordan will be aware of what a truly special person he is, he has a true inspirational attitude in the face of real adversity and since diagnosis has been an incredible example of how to live your life, create memories and cherish your family.
