I am running a half marathon in aid of rescued Elephants.

I have never been much of a runner due to having had pretty bad asthma attacks as a child, I avoided running completely until about 2 years ago thinking I couldn't really do it. Two weeks ago I ran six miles in just over an hour as part of training and it really takes a lot of determination at the moment to get out running in the cold and dark evenings, this will be a big achievement for me and is for a cause very close to my heart.

As many of you know, I recently spent time volunteering as vet nurse with Elephants in Thailand.

Since returning, I have endeavoured to continue to help and support the plight of the Asian elephant

My aim is to help raise awareness (and not collapse) in a hope that more elephants will be able to live a life free of abuse.

Any money raised will be donated to Save Elephant Foundation to provide rescued elephants with medical care, a healthy diet and chain free enclosures to enable them to roam free and enjoy the rest of their lives.

More importantly, I just want more people to be aware and support the cause.
