In February 2018, my friend Jimmy and I are travelling to Bali to take part in a voluntary construction project helping deprived families in rural parts of Bali with basic construction and renovation work, improving the quality of life for these communities.

Throughout my placement I will be involved in a range of building and renovation activities, including decorating and maintaining various structures in the villages surrounding Ubud such as community centres, schools, libraries and playgrounds. I will also be involved in a range of activities from digging, removing dirt, laying bricks, carpentry, painting, laying tiles and maybe even doing some landscaping and gardening.
