    Story

In 2015 I first met this inspiring group of people. As a Special Yoga teacher myself I have arranged for a highly experienced tutor from London to go to the school to train the staff. All we need is the money!

Last year I was able to deliver a workshop to the staff which was received very positively. I witnessed their enthusiasm and could see how this could be incorporated into the wider programme.

Cerebral Palsy Nepal is Nepal’s only non-governmental and non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting people with cerebral palsy and their families. Since their foundation over 25 years ago, they have helped thousands of individuals with cerebral palsy and developmental delay to overcome many of the barriers they face, and to live happy and fulfilled lives.

Their programmes directly benefit 1,500 children with cerebral palsy a year.
From their specialist centre in Dhapakhel, Lalitpur, they run a complete rehabilitation service for children with cerebral palsy and their parents, as well as a school and vocational training centre for up to 50 children, and a residential scheme for families living beyond the Kathmandu Valley.

Their community programmes help them to reach many more unable to visit their centre. Through their home visitors, care centres, medical camps and other initiatives, they support individuals and families in 15 of Nepal’s 75 districts.

Despite the progress they have made, they are only scratching the service of what remains a chronic, under-resourced problem in Nepal. They are grateful for the continuing support of donors, parents and volunteers in helping them to reach the thousands more affected by this debilitating condition.

Cerebral Palsy Nepal is an associate organisation member of the International Cerebral Palsy Society, London.

Thank you Everyone. Any donation, however small, will be greatly appreciated.
