    Story

6 weeks ago Headcorn Methodist Church found large chunks of the ceiling on the floor. The ceiling had cracked and fallen into the main body of the church, meaning that for safety reasons no one can enter the church. The congregation are desperate to be able to worship again in their church safely. The church was used regularly by community groups and organisations and currently cannot serve the community.

To repair the ceiling will be a big job and the church will stand out of use until the funds have been raised to complete the task.
Were you married or baptised in this church? Have you any connection to this beautiful village church that has touched the hearts of so many. It has been serving the community for the past 200 years and we don't want to be stopped by a ceiling!
Can you do anything to support us? Please help us raise the funds to keep this heart beating at the centre of the community.

Since New Year, another section of ceiling has come down. An architect inspection has resulted in a ruling that the whole ceiling has to be replaced. We are trying several different ways of raising the money, but we now face having to raise at least £16,000. So fat we have a total of a bit under £6,000 so we are on the way. This may not sound an exciting project, but it is a heartfelt need. If you can spare even £1 it will be really appreciated. Thank you all who are encouraging us.

The mouse is delighted with every penny raised - so are we all. We raised £170 at a Christmas fair last week. We are all trying! This is some of our recently fallen rubble. The bigger chunks travelled a long way and could have caused serious injury. Not just the mouse who needs the hard hat.
