Northamptonshire Historic Churches Trust raises funds to support a variety of projects and repairs to churches in the county. One of the main fundraising activities is the annual sponsored 'Ride and Stride'. Participants visit churches on bikes or on foot - or even on horseback.

I have been supporting NHCT through the 'Ride and Stride' with family and friends for many years and it is always an enjoyable day. These days out have led us to more adventurous cycle trips. In 2004 my son,Tom, and I cycled from the Lizard in Cornwall to Dunnet Head in the north of Scotland raising monies for NHCT and Hospital at Home. That was a 4 week long adventure. We were joined in Oban by my husband, David and our daughter, Rachel, for the Outer Hebrides stage. It was a tough 3 days with a head wind the whole way but oh so beautiful.

Without the NHCT, churches would often struggle to find funds for projects such as roof or stonework repairs, adding toilets or refurbishing towers. This year, the 'Ride and Stride' takes place on 12 September and David and I will be on our bikes visiting churches between Warmington and Bulwick. I would be grateful for any sponsorship.
