Story

Hey everyone! We're now onto our THIRD fundraiser. We've raised almost £10,000 and made a huge impact with your help. But there is still work to be done…

Help us continue to support Ukraine and her people in direct ways through our grassroots contacts. Read on to find out more about this, and click here and here to look at our previous fundraisers and see what we have already achieved.

This time, instead of cycling, one of our team, Bohdan, will be taking a dip in the River Ouse (pictured above!) every morning from the 15th to the 31st December to speed us along in our fundraising efforts. We’ll be posting updates, photos, and evidence from the supplies we can buy with your support on here!

What’s going on in Ukraine now?

Ukrainian soldiers and civilians are now facing the winter: they have won the third of their biggest battles, the first for Kyiv, the second for Kharkiv, and now Kherson has been liberated from the russian occupiers. Continued pushes further east and south are ongoing as temperatures drop to -5 degrees. They will fall further still in the coming weeks, to below -10 degrees.

The Ukrainians are doing this not because they are a warmongering nation. They are acting in self-defense to protect themselves from an unjustified and evil attack. There is no alternative - even if there is a ceasefire, Ukrainian lives will continue to be destroyed in the areas occupied, as news reports from places like Bucha, Izyum, and Mariupol have shown. The situation is tough and the reality that there is a genocide going on of Ukrainians now is still very real. This matters for everyone across the world; if russia is to win, authoritarian regimes like China and Iran will be emboldened, and every democracy is at risk, a risk that no country, including those in Europe, is immune to.

But we can make a massive difference.

This Christmas, let's give the best present to Ukraine that we possible can. Let's help Ukrainians gather medical supplies and defensive equipment like warm winter clothing to give them the strength to keep pushing the occupier out of their land and end this war as quickly as possible. No one, least of all Ukrainians, want this hellish reality to continue. The money will go to buying supplies requested by grassroots volunteers on the ground that we are in direct contact with. If you would like more information on this, please get in touch.

By donating, you are directly impacting the situation Ukrainians tragically find themselves in because of unprovoked russian aggression. We have done two fundraisers already and your help will continue this defence of Ukraine's freedom from russian tyranny and imperialism. It is a war that has consequences for us all.

Please share as widely as possible, with friends and family. However much you give, whether £1 or more, it is more than welcome: every pound contributes to our victory.
