Hi! This is Jun. :)

Since I came to the UK, I aimed to do a personal activity for a cause, usually on or near my birth month - May. I am just an ordinary guy who believes that contribution is necessary if we are to live in a happy and peaceful world.

Now, a growing number of Filipino and Malawian children suffer from hunger and malnutrition due to lack of resources. This negatively affects the kids' brain development, hindering them from reaching their full potential and become part of the vicious cycle of poverty. The poor have more kids, and these kids suffer from malnutrition which contributes to them being poor when they grow up. They grow up to have more kids and so on.

There are existing initiatives that try to solve the issue of hunger but most of the time they're focused on one-time feeding and with food that fills the children’s bellies but does not really nourish them. We believe that most of the food donations (i.e. canned goods, processed foods, junk food) do not give the necessary ingredients to reduce malnutrition in underprivileged yet deserving communities.
My friends and I have decided to not only give them a meal but also give them a SUPPLY of food with strong dietary content that would benefit the children’s health and growth esp their brain development giving them more fighting chance for a better future.
We pray that you can also be as passionate as us in this endeavor. If you want to personally sponsor a child for a month, just give me a shout so I can arrange it for you. Otherwise, any amount will do!

In exchange, my friends and I are going to do the GoApe Treetop Adventure challenge this Bank Holiday Monday - with more or less 7 courses to complete and a certificate to prove it! :p We certainly are afraid of heights, and we are here to conquer that fear! Talk about personal growth and charity at the same time, eh?
