The group provide support to carers of those suffering eating disorders in Plymouth and the surrounding areas. There is no other group available in Devon and Cornwall.

The group provides vital peer support and there is a Facebook page with up to date information and research shared.

The group has links with BEAT the national eating disorders charity, Plymouth eating disorders service and Plymouth CAMHS.

Money raised for the group pays for room rental at the Jan Cutting healthy living centre in Plymouth, councilling sessions for carers in order to promote resilliance and build skills in caring for a child with a serious mental health illness.

The group is also hoping to raise additional funds to support parents with travel and accomodation when required. This is because they have several families whose children have been admitted to eating disorder units in different areas of the country. This means that the child feels isolated from their familes when they are at their most vulnerable.
