Hello Everyone!

I've been inspired by my local community to try and set up this funding page for my collie girl - Ronja.

My partner is working as a junior doctor in Caithness General Hospital and I am a freelance translator, also looking for an additional job at the moment, to be able to pay for Ronja's care.

A few months ago Ronja had an Achilles tendon rupture and had a surgery performed by the fantastic surgeons from the Aberdeen Veterinary Referrals. Unfortunately the tendon ruptured again and she needed another, more complicated surgery. It's been successful, yet two weeks after the surgery the skin on her leg started bursting and the metal plate, which she had inserted inside her leg became visible. Despite the best care, our local vets in Wick were unable to help her and she needed to be hospitalized in Aberdeen. The wounds are healing nicely, but there is still a long way ahead of Ronja. She will soon need another surgery in order to take the metal plate out of her leg, as it may keep creating new wounds, but first the plate needs to be kept inside the leg for at least a few more weeks, so it can do its job and fix the leg.

Although we are both working, we are not able to pay the bill for Ronja's care. We are receiving great support from the AVR who have let us pay the bills in several instalments and are constantly trying to reduce the payments as much as possible, but it still remains an increadible amount of money for us to pay in a too short period of time. At the moment our bill is 7000£ and we still have another surgery ahead of us.

Ronja has always been my greatest companion and my hope and joy throughout a very long period of a severe illness that I've suffered from myself. She has a 100% chance of full recovery and leading a long, happy life (she is only 6).
