    Story

Our beautiful mum was always a strong and independent woman. She had always been active and loved to keep herself busy. However, as she grew older, her hip started to give her trouble. After consulting with her doctor, it was decided that she would undergo a routine hip operation.

The operation went well, but unfortunately, mummy developed post-operative complications caused by a fractured femur. This led to a DVT, pulmonary embolism leading to a cardiac arrest. She was then intubated and immediately taken to the ICU at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Over the next few days, mummy received the best care from the wonderful nursing staff , consultants and doctors at the hospital. They worked tirelessly to ensure that she was comfortable and receiving the best possible treatment. We are forever grateful for the dedication and hard work of all those who cared for mum; especially the nurses and other care givers.

Although mummy is no longer with us now, we know how grateful she was for the care she received during the short time she remained awake after the operation. She couldn't stop praising the staff, and it was clear that they had made a significant impact on her.

This was our selfless, beautiful, unassuming, compassionate mum. She always put others before herself, and we knew that she would want us to give thanks to the ICU at the hospital by raising funds for this department.

We are asking for your help to raise funds for the ICU at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Every penny raised will go towards supporting the incredible work that the nursing staff and consultants do every day. They are the unsung heroes of the hospital, and we want to show them how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication.

Please give as much as you can for this cause. Your donation will make a significant difference to the lives of those who need it most. Thank you for your support.

    With love and gratitude,

    The Marwahs.
