In August 2017 I will visit South Africa with other young North Londoners from the St. Peter's Bourne community to work in townships, orphanages and schools for a fortnight.

Some of the specifics of our project involve visiting an orphanage and school in Grahamstown and delivering the equipment they need most. After that we move on to Cape Town to help build 'sandbag homes' This section of the project is in conjunction with award winning architect Barry Lewis who has worked with the local community, empowering them to identify and make the changes they want to see. The results are amazing, ecologically friendly and affordable homes which are a huge upgrade on the previous corrugated iron housing stock. The improvements in the emotional and psychological health of the people are even greater.

The efforts combined with your generosity will enable us to purchase materials and cover some travel costs.
