Story
I have recently became aware of the charity Chris’s House. This charity is a life line for people who are Struggling with life. With mental health issues being highlighted in the media a lot in last few weeks I feel it has given people more of a platform to talk and be open about their own personal battles. Everyone has mental health, we are all just in different levels of good or poor mental health. I believe everyone should be able to be open about their mental health and how they are feeling. I was not aware of this charity until recently and wanted to highlighted and support it. I will be taking part in their 5K walk of hope on Saturday morning which starts at 4am, cutting my girls day out short on Friday is least I can do. This charity is mainly supported by volunteers but still requires money to keep it going. I love what they stand for and what they aim to do...
To reduce the number of people dying as a result of mental health
To support those affected by suicide and raise awareness of it
To work in partnership with other agencies in Scotland that could help with our aims
To reduce stigma and ‘taboo’ around suicide and mental health
So why not give up your morning coffee one day this week and donate the £2 to this charity instead.
Thank you
Karen
