It is hard to believe that in September 2013, I was diagnosed with viral meningitis and continue to be suffering four years on. The support, both emotionally and financially, from family and friends has been overwhelming, and I really am truly grateful.

Whilst I can begin to see the light at the end of what appears to be a very long tunnel, I am still having to undergo treatment off island due to the lack of support from the States of Guernsey.

With so many worthy charities and causes, it becomes difficult for people to support every thing. So, I've decided to do something a little crazy to a) raise awareness of meningitis, b) raise funds for Headway Guernsey, who have been a wonderful support system throughout my recovery and c) raise the sum of one set of medical treatment in London.

In December 2017, Tom and I will be travelling to New Zealand for his sister's wedding. I have decided to face my fear of open heights with a skydive. I'm looking to reach a total sum of £1,200 - half of which is the cost of one off-island set of treatment and the second half which will be donated to Headway Guernsey.

Any donations, no matter how large or small are welcome. Thank you for your continued support and here's to me finally kicking the meningitis in the butt in what I hope will be the short months ahead.
