    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Bereket fled Eritrea with his wife and children and came to the UK in 2014. He was building his life up by studying English and trying to find work. I taught him English for 3 months and got to know him as a person. He was a positive, genuine hard-working man who just wanted to provide for his family and would have found a job contributed to the community. On 27 May he was walking along Roundhay Road, Leeds, on the pavement - when a young driver who was speeding, mounted the pavement and hit him. Bereket was thrown over the top of the car and underneath a bus. He was taken to hospital but remained in a coma for 10 days, and died without recovering. His widow is on benefits and is left with 3 children under the age of 7, the youngest being one year old.The car driver had no insurance as I understand it and she is struggling to afford funeral or repatriation costs. I would like to get as much help for her as possible. The whole Eritrean community are devastated by this but can not raise a great deal of money. Any little you can give will be appreciated. Thank you.

    R.I.P. Bereket Weldemichael
