My mum passed away 2 and half weeks ago and as a result of this heart breaking event a very kind lady that cared for my mum for 3 years not only lost her client, her job but also who had become a dear friend.

As my mum got iller, and I struggled to cope, my mum's carer stepped up gave up all her clients and her agency work to take my mum on as a full time job. This was one hell of a selfless task considering my mum had terminal liver cancer and she has 2 kids to feed.

My mum also had a mental health condition so coupled with my mum's physical illnesses this job was almost 24 hours a day. I even saw text messages between them at 3 am which is a level of commitment I am so grateful for.

My mum sadly passed soon after my mums carer gave up her other income, leaving my mum's carer with no job, no plan in place and 2 kids to feed whilst coping with the grief of losing a good friend.
