    Story

I received a message today from one of the teachers at Katiyo Primary School in Zimbabwe. One of the Grade 3 students fell out of a tree on Monday and broke his arm. Cloudy weather meant the local clinic had no power until today (Thursday) so he only had an x-ray today which shows a nasty break. The family traveled to the district hospital to see a doctor but no doctor was available. We would like to raise the money needed for the family to take him to the private hospital so he can see a Doctor and get his arm treated, it is possible he may need surgery, this is not something the family can afford to do by themselves...

The rest of the money has gone towards paying the boy's medical bills, the gap between what we raised and what we owed was filled by the fabulous people at the charity Zane. The boy has good use of his arm and his cast is off and his family say he is doing well... Thank you again from all of us for all your help and support..

Because you have all helped I was able to send a payment today to the boy's family to cover the healthcare & travel costs they had to pay which will make life much easier for the family We will use the remaining money towards paying the bill at the clinic in Mutare where the boy is currently having treatment. He saw the doctor before Christmas & his arm was realigned & place in a cast. He is waiting for an appointment to go back to the clinic as further treatment is needed because of a problem found on his X-ray. We will keep you updated...

After a lot of bumps in the road we finally got the little boy to the Doctor we wanted him to see today. He has had treatment, his arm is in a cast and he is on his way home. We are waiting to find out what we still need to pay so there may be some more fundraising we need to do in order to cover all his medical costs. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far.
