Hi, my best friend Keavy who is only 19 years old is suffering from intestinal and digestive failure. She has been suffeting for over 7 years but has gradually got worse over the years.

Keavy is currently in Salford Royal Hospital where she is connected through TPN to a feed which helps give her nutrients. She is connected to this for 12 hours a day. This has really started to take a toll on herself and her family and friends as it is horrible seeing her suffer so much when all shes wanted to do is help other people.

Any infections can cause complications as we know but anything such as a cold for her can make her seriously unwell because she has a very low emunity so cannot fight bugs or infections as well as other people can. If Keavy catches an infections and it gets to her Hickman line in her chest it will have to be removed leading to her not receiving any nutrition what she desperately needs everyday to keep her going. Keavy's friends and family have nearly lost her 3 times due to infection/sepsis or her blood levels being low .

Keavy has achieved so much the past few years.. She has worked her way up to being a level 3 qualified chef and also done skydiving for charities helping others have the best quality of life. Keavy has always put other people first before herself and is still trying to do so even being so unwell she is a massive inspiration to everyone that knows her.

Her family need to raise as much money as possible for medical equipment to allow Keavy to come home and start to feel like she has her life back. The family need to buy thigs such as a stair lift as Keavy cannot walk up and down stairs due to her blood pressure and feeling so faint. They also need to put wooden flooring in her room because of the seriousness of connecting to her feed, carpet doesnt suit well to this as we have been told by the doctors. There are also other bits and pieces the family need in order to ensure Keavy is in best environment possible.
