Our beloved Grandad passed away in between Xmas and new year after a long battle health wise. He was a bright and loving character who instantly touched the hearts of those who got the chance to meet him. He survived the mines and was part of the Royal Navy and the Royal merchant Navy as a deep sea diver. 5 years ago he nearly died after an operation but overcome the odds. The last 4 months he battled heavily with chronic chest infections and finally gave up after suffering a pulmonary aneurysm. As a family we are trying hard to raise money to give him a good send off as my nan his wife and widow is disabled and struggling with finding the funds.
