    Story

Kev suddenly took ill saturday 30th September whilst on a family holiday in Dominican Republic and has been hospitalised in ICU since Sunday 1st October. He has been in 3 different hospitals, the first of which wouldnt treat him for insurance reasons and the family had to pay £1000.00 to move him to a hospital that would. He is currently in corrazones undios clinic, Santo Domingo in a coma in ICU whilst being closely monitored.

His Fiancee Joanna and Dad Alan are out there with him keeping vigil at his bedsite. They are only allowed to visit him 3 times a day, ten minutes at a time. Doctors say it could be 2-8 weeks before he is strong enough for a medical flight home. Even then he may only be transferred to London incurring more costs for the family to be with him.

This is the last picture taken of him before he fell ill. There has been a lot of moral support from family, friends and work colleagues, lots of people are wanting to donate so this funding page has been created. Money is the last thing the family need to be worrying about at the moment but it is a hard reality and they have already spent over £4000. I really hope we can raise as much as possible to help cover costs and all the day to day bills they have here at home.

UPDATE- Kev has shown small signs of improvement. The family and insurance company are now trying to arrange a medical evac for Kev and a chartered flight for Joanna and Alan so that they all hopefully arrive home around the same time. Everyone- Joanna and family- would like to thank everybody for their support and kindness- we all can’t wait to tell Kev all about it. There is still a long road to recovery with months of rehabilitation ahead but in Joanna’s words ‘with everyone’s support we can do this together’
