We are a community school at the heart of a market town in Dorset. We have large grounds but not the means financially to improve them in the way the children would like. Cuts to educational budgets have impacted hugely on the arts and we have not been able to provide some of the additional positive experiences we used to be able to.
We held a community day last April where everyone worked on the grounds for FREE and we will be having another in May this year. We have a willing workforce and will pull together to make a real difference to the school environment but we cannot afford to build the structures we would like to.
If we can create a willow hide and pond area we will be able to use them as teaching tools and introduce our youngsters to the delights of nature and teach them about protecting the world they live in.
