I'm attempting to run 33.5miles up and down Dorset Coastal paths to raise money for my nephews' equine therapy. Coastal Trail Series Dorset Ultra is an extreme trail run with 5,786ft of ascent in December.

Andrew and Samuel have been riding at HETRA a little over a year now. Andrew's favourite horse is Star, and Samuel loves them all!
When riding Andrew loves to put letters in the mailbox and get Star trotting around the arena during his therapeutic riding sessions. Sammy loves shooting hoops and riding backwards during his riding sessions.
We have seen growth with both of the boys.

Andrew is starting to ride for longer and following Miss Edye's instructions better. HETRA has helped Samuel physically, improving his core strength and posture. Riding has really helped the boys just have another avenue to meet people and socialize, as well as providing some much needed activity.

HETRA is a first class organization. From the moment we started working with them they have been fantastic in trying to help us with the boys. It was definitely a struggle at first for both of them. Samuel wouldn't even get near a horse and Andrew was a 5 minute ride at best.
One of the greatest things about HETRA is it is a TOTAL team effort. It's a 1 horse and 4 person job to do a therapeutic riding session. The time given up by the volunteers is very generous and the instructors work very hard to get the most out of the sessions.

It's a long drive for us, an hour and 15 minutes away, but we love the experience the boys are getting. We wouldn't make that commitment if we didn't believe that it was worth it.
