As many of you know, my son Henry has Autism. When he was first diagnosed he was having to cope without much support & his mental health really suffered. He was only able to attend school for a few hours a day & wasn‘t able to socialise or learn in a school environment. Our amazing little boy was becoming a shell of a person. However we have been fortunate enough to have received advice from The Bristol Autism team & some funding for the next 3 years that have been put towards Henry to having a 1:1 teaching assistant for half of the day. However this funding has recently become much harder to access & The Bristol Autism Team are having to reduce the number of children they support as their staff numbers have been halved!

We have seen what a wonderful difference that access to some additional help & therapy can do for a child with special educational needs. Henry is now in school full time, he‘s happy & feels like he has a place in the world. As a mother it fills my heart with joy to see the differences in him as he grows in confidence thanks to the SEN resources he can access. ❤️

I now want to help others access these SEN resources, but thanks to massive cuts to funding from both central government & local authorities most children with SEN needs don’t receive any funding to access help. The money that is raised will go towards paying for resources such as music & dance therapy, lego therapy and SEN tools to aid learning.

Please help me make a difference in these children’s lives & help them have the best learning exerience that they can. On 4th March 2018 i will be running the Bath Half Marathon (despite being led up with a trapped nerve in my neck for a few weeks!) to raise money so please sponsor me & help me do something wonderful for the SEN department! 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️💙❤️

So thanks to ‘The Beast From The East‘ snow storm for the first time ever The Bath Half Marathon was cancelled!! However fear not my lovely supporters i‘m not giving up!! As soon as i heard the news i signed myself up to The Bath Two Tunnels Half Marathon on 6th May. Although i was really upset not to be able to run in Bath as planned, running a half marathon along an old steam railway seems perfect in honour of my train obsessed boy! So the training & fundraising continues for 8 more weeks.......LETS DO THIS!!
