Story
I along with 7 other members of Kirkcaldy Tennis Club are trying to emulate a Guinness Book of World Records success by members of the club in 1971 - 50th Anniversary - where the boys pictured above played the longest Doubles match of 28 hours continuous doubles play!!! The picture is of the boys from our Club 50 years ago and as you can see they are sporting Fred Perry apparell and Dunlop and Slazenger wooden rackets!!!
With our love of tennis over the last year we decided this would be a great way to have a Charity Fundraiser and have a bit of fun as well as emulating a WORLD RECORD!!! We are raising money for our local Maggies Cancer Centre in Kirkcaldy, Prostate Scotland and the local renal unit.
Maggies Cancer Care, who is a Tennis Scotland Supporter, have their Fife centre here in Kirkcaldy, The centre sees around 9000 people a year and has to raise around £380K a year to stay open - with the Covid pandemic every charity has suffered more than ever so supporting such a brilliant one on our doorstep makes sense.

Kirkcaldy Tennis Boys
3 years agoThe challenge starts in 3 hours and we are raring to go. In common with the great professional sports stars of yesteryears our night before prep consisted of beer and football! Scotland played their heart out. Now it’s our turn. Game on!
