Gloucester ward MDT (the respiratory ward at Epsom Hospital) are doing a fundraising walk in February....... with a difference.......

The aim is to raise money to purchase respiratory equipment for our ward (and make total fools of ourselves in the process, for your entertainment). We all know that in current financial climates we can’t always get what we want without a little help, the NHS is no exception.

- The chosen team members will be partaking in a sponsored walk, starting from the middle of London Bridge...........all the way back to Epsom General Hospital. This is an approx walking distance of 20 miles and will take an entire day to complete!

- Each member will be in fancy dress of their choice. Knowing my team, this could present an eyeopening spectacle on its own (despite February temperatures).

- There will be a number of teams - each with a team leader allocated.

- The people that sponsor us will be able to write down one task for both teams to complete along their walk before returning back to Epsom Hospital.

For example this could be:

- A photo opportunity like a pub or landmark

- Find someone called Nigel

- Create a human pyramid and get a passer by to take a picture

- Collect three fluffy items

- Sing a love song to a stranger and film it

- Shout the Bristol stool scale at top volume in a busy street

You get the idea.

- The teams can navigate any route they wish back to Epsom Hospital but it MUST only be by foot. No trains, trams, taxis, cars, bikes or any other mode of transport. Just feet!

- There must be photo/video evidence on a mobile phone of all tasks undertaken. These will be published on social media.

- The winning team will be the team that completes the most tasks with the best evidence. (But really.... we just want to have a load of fun and raise money for our little ward. Not competitive at all.............🙄)
