Story
Kms for Kev
on 30th Jun 2026 I will be attempting to break the record for riding 1,400km from Lands End to John O' Groats on a folding Brompton Bike, which currently stands at 83 hours, in memory of my mate Kev.
Kev was tragically murdered during the robbery of his motorbike in Kenya. The McCool family's response to his loss has been stoic and inspiring. Their ability to tackle such a harrowing event and find positivity though the Kevin McCool fund is what has motivated me to take on this challenge for Kms for Kev.

May, Kev's sister, on what Kms for Kev is all bout:
"As a family, we believe that criminality often has deep, complex roots — and we want to support organisations working to address those root causes. By helping young people choose a different path, we hope to prevent future tragedies that echo Kevin’s story. Kevin was a passionate runner — he proudly represented Ireland Schools at Cross Country — and believed deeply in the power of sport to bring people together and change lives.
In his memory, an incredible £26,000 has already been raised — and we’re just getting started."
In the UK and Ireland
“Using the power of sport to change young lives and tackle some of society’s biggest problems, including anti-social behaviour, rural isolation and community cohesion.”
In Kenya
Donations will also support three impactful charities developing young athletes and building stronger communities:
These charities reflect Kevin’s values, his love of sport, and his belief in the potential of young people everywhere.

The funds raised during this challenge will support the McCool family's efforts to raise £75,000 for these charities here https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/kevin-mccool
