Weʼve raised £1,342 to Give the homeless of Cardiff some warm clothes this Christmas

    Story

Christmas is a time to spend with family and friends and for most of us this is something that is always taken for granted. This certainly applies to me also!

This Christmas I want to do something nice and give people a small gift that could mean more to them than any materialistic gift I have ever received myself.

Homelessness is an ever growing problem everywhere in the world, but in the past year I personally have noticed huge increases in the number of homeless people I see in Cardiff. I am sure this is also the case everywhere else.

I know this is not giving me much time to do anything but my aim is to use the connections in business, friendship and pull upon everyone I know to do what can be done to raise as much money in a very short time scale to do something to offer a very small bit of help for this ever growing problem.

From now until Christmas Eve I will be raising money through all means necessary (collections, donations, auctioning items etc) and every penny raised will on Christmas Eve be spent throughout Cardiff buying warm clothes, hats, gloves, scarves, waterproof clothing, sleeping bags, tents etc or anything to help the people on our streets.

I also have set up a drop off point at The Viola Arena for anyone who would rather help by dropping off hats, gloves etc and these will then be distributed on Christmas Day

I have spoken to many homeless charities and asked what would be the best help, and due to the amazing generosity of so many people, lots of places on Christmas Day will be opening their doors to feed and help the homeless, so the suggestion of giving clothing etc seemed to be the best way to offer further help.

On Christmas Day I then plan to visit as many places throughout Cardiff that are offering these meals and a place to stay in order to maximise the amount of people I can hopefully help and then distribute what I have for them.

Its pretty simple really, the more I raise the more people hopefully I can help!

No matter how big or how small any contribution may be, I am so thankful for the generosity shown.

I have set a target of £3000 which in all honesty is a figure plucked out of no where and I have no idea what can be achieved, but as I have said earlier, the more I raise the more people I can help so please give us much as you can.

I will also be keeping regular updates on other fundraising ideas through my personal facebook page and via other social media platforms to hopefully increase the amount raised to do my little bit to help.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you in advance for any donation made.
