During a recent visit to Kenya I met an inspiring woman, Grace Wambete. She runs a small school for pre-high school children in Shauri Yako, Mombasa. The school provides a much needed safe haven and education for the children of this struggling community. It is entirely funded by the parents of the children that attend, the costs are rarely met, Grace and her staff often do not get paid, pencils, paper, chalk are precious resources that are difficult to fund. This school gives the best chance for these children to receive an education that will enable them to continue to high school and a better future. Cornerstone also has a food programme in place, funded by my good friend Dianne, this ensures that the children get a breakfast and lunch every day.

The children are an absolute delight, Grace has created an environment full of love, warmth & security for these children to flourish.

There are currently 80 children attending Cornerstone, £50 per child per year would cover the cost of teaching, rent, uniforms and resources. That's £1 a week per child! £4000 a year would give this school the financial security to thrive and develop.
