Through our family's relief work for the Rohingya's in Bangladesh, we were contacted by a couple whose 20 month old daughter, Labiba, had been diagnosed with Leukaemia two months prior. With no proper treatment facilities or cancer hospitals in the area, her condition had rapidly deteriorated. The family come from a very poor background and have barely any savings of their own, so we organised a medical visa for them to travel to Kolkata, India, to receive the treatment that Labiba needs.

Labiba's family arrived in India on the 17th June 2018, and after their first consultation at the Tata Medical Centre the next day, Labiba was immediately admitted and estimated to need 6 cycles of Chemotherapy. 

Doctor's believe that the initial cost of Labiba's treatment, along with the extensive testing that needs to be done, would be around 8 Lakh Rupees (around 10,000 USD). This does not include other expenses the family will need, such as accommodation for their time in India.
