    Story

In July James, Max, Theo and Tom will sing their last service as choristers at Ely Cathedral. To mark the end of over 4 years of dedicated service (5 for Theo!) they are doing a sponsored cycle ride from King's Lynn to Ely on Saturday 1 June in aid of the Choir Tour Fund. They will be joined by fellow year 8s from King's Ely Junior who are raising money for Cancer Research UK. There is a separate Just Giving page for this - https://www.justgiving.com/Laura-Barbrook?utm_source=Sharethis&utm_medium=fundraisingpage&utm_content=Laura-Barbrook&utm_campaign=pfp-email&utm_term=5EazRJ7eV.

The boys have been part of a professional choir and as well as singing 5/6 services a week in Ely's magnificent Cathedral, the boys perform in concert, on television, radio and CD. A special highlight for the boys is the chance to travel abroad with the choir: They toured Poland in 2015, and Austria, Slovakia and Hungary in 2016. The most recent tour was to Estonia in summer 2018.

There is no charge to parents for these tours, which are made possible through fund-raising like this.

Hence the boys' wish to raise money for future choristers to enjoy what they have enjoyed and to keep this important opportunity available to all.

Despite a few spills, a puncture, and hot weather the children completed this challenge. We are proud of their support of each other to achieve a common goal.

The choristers had a photo shoot today to promote the cycle ride. Unfortunately James has been ill so didn't appear but is on road to recovery and spent some time today spilling coke on my computer and sabotaging conference calls! A week to go and they are almost at their target!
