Story
Please take the time to read my good friend Nicci’s words below and sponsor me to run in the Frimley park 10k on 30th March AND in the Guildford Run for Champagne event on Sunday 9th July. At the moment I can only run about 3k on my lunch break but I'm sure your support, champagne at the end of the race and of course most of all helping Glen's fight will help!
Glen has fought so hard over the last 11 years against all the odds. He has fought for our daughter's sake more than anything else. They have an unbreakable bond. She is 14 now and has grown up with the shadow of this nasty disease over our little family. When she comes to spend time with Glen at the hospital, even though he is weakened and down, she manages to brighten even his darkest moments and put a smile back on his face. I feel inspired when I watch the two of them together but have to fight the urge to cry as it is so heartbreaking. But....we, and especially Glen are refusing to give up hope. The purpose of our plea and the reason for this page is that we are trying to raise the funds for Glen to have potentially life-saving immunotherapy treatment at the Hallwang Clinic in Germany. It is an extremely costly procedure but will be worth every penny if it leads to Glen living the life he deserves in the future. We want to give Glen this chance but sadly cannot do it on our own which is why we are asking for your help.
Everybody who meets Glen is blown away by his huge vibrant personality, his great sense of humour and his overwhelming kindness and love he has always shown. He has never felt sorry for himself and just wants to be able to have the life he always dreamed of - the biggest part of that is being able to see our daughter Tiyana grow up.
Our family is not complete without Glen in it. Tiyana needs her daddy and I need the love of my life. This treatment is his last and his only chance, so please, if you could donate whatever you can afford we would be eternally grateful.

7 years agoI'm sad to say that last week Glen passed away. I will still be running the races and feel that the money should be donated to Cancer Research UK - to help fund the much needed research to prevent this hideous disease. Thank you for your donations.
