    Story

Aaron is an incredible person. At just 24 years old, he has bravely battled brain cancer for the past four years and in that time has also counselled terminally ill cancer patients. A couple of months ago, Aaron got the devastating news that his cancer was not responding to chemotherapy. His treatment caused him terrible side effects, including paralysis, and made life unbearable. Because of this, Aaron made the courageous decision to end his treatment and make the most of his time with his family and friends. Despite illness, he has always been the life and soul of the party and, although he is frank about his illness, continues to remain positive and supportive of his family and friends who are, understandably, struggling to come to terms with these awful circumstances.

I am asking for your kind generosity to support Aaron in making some amazing memories for his family. Aaron was born in the USA and came to live in England when he was 8 years old. He hasn't seen his grandparents since he was young but because of his condition he is now unable to fly. His grandparents are elderly and his granddad uses a wheelchair which makes travelling difficult but I am hoping that we can raise enough to make it possible for them to fly over here to visit their grandson. In addition to this, Aaron's parents and sister all work extremely hard and would love to take some time off to spend with him, and obviously provide the round-the-clock care that he will soon need. Aaron has made the selfless decision to donate his brain to medical science when the time comes. His hope is that this will prevent others from enduring the pain and suffering he has had to go through in the future.

Any contribution would be graciously received and I thank you in advance for your support in our cause. Let's help to make some special times for them and make Aaron's wish to see his grandparents come true! Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any donations you make.

    With love xxx

With the page coming to a close tomorrow, I just wanted to say a final thank you to every single one of you that has donated or supported Aaron's cause in whatever way you were able to. Despite not being able to give Aaron his last wish, the money will be used for very positive things, such as a donation to brain cancer research, a memorial for Aaron and some of it has already been used to give Aaron a wonderful send off. Wishing you a merry Christmas to you and your loved ones xxx

Just to let people know that there will be tributes to Aaron in the Sheffield Star and the Rotherham Advertiser in the next couple of days. These last couple of days have been so tough for the people that loved him. I know people miss him so much already and it doesn't quite seem real that we won't see him again yet. Thank you to all those people that supported Aaron and his family. Always in our hearts, missing you xxx

I am so very sad to tell you all that Aaron passed away last night. He was peaceful and he had all his family and friends around him. Aaron was such a remarkable person anf our lives wont be the same without him. I want to thank everyone for their support and want you to know that some of the money will be spent on giving Aaron the best send off and some will be donated to a cancer charity. Tell your family and the people close to you that you love because sometimes life is shorter than you think. Xxx

Aaron and I were in a philosophy class together at the University of Essex, we never spoke much outside of class but he was always very polite, friendly and thoughtful. RIP.

Such a brave man & wonderful son, very inspiring. I hoped to get over to the UK to see him before he passed. He wanted to tell me his sad news in person but didn't get the chance. Rest in Peace, son.
