Story
Volunteer Zambia is a seven week project consisting of five weeks in the Zambian capital; Lusaka, and two weeks working in a rural community and living with a host family to experience Zambian culture.
During this time I will be working with school students as well as community programmes to coach netball to young people who would otherwise not have the opportunity to reach their sporting potential. The Wallace Project operates in partnership with the Zambian NGO; Sport in Action and seven UK universities who send students to Zambia each year.
In April I will be running (walking or crawling) the Stirling half marathon in order to raise funds for the expedition and would appreciate any sponsorship I can get! Some of the money raised for the project goes towards buying sports equipment for schools and sports clubs to allow the community involvement in sport to progreess all of this equipment is bought in Zambia in order to allow local business to florish.
