Leanne has suffered from Lipodema since she was 9 years old, i've seen first hand how much pain she is constantly in, yet she continues her work as a midwife. She is officially classed as disabled yet you'll never hear her so much as complain.

Lipodema is a genetic condition that alters the fat cells causing them to swell, the NHS do not currently offer the treatment that is needed yet it really will change the quality of Leanne's life with her two small children!

In Leanne’s words;

I really do have the most amazing friends . Michelle has set me up a just giving page in the hope of raising enough money for me to get life changing surgery on my legs.

This surgery isn’t funded on the NHS . I need around 6 operations each around £6000.

I have had lipoedema in my legs since I was 9 years old and in my arms since the loss of my daughter Phoebe at age 23.

I am in pain 24 hours a day, seriously .... I am never not in pain !

Most days I cannot even tolerate something simple like sitting on my seatee without a fleece blanket as the texture feels like glass .

The simplest of touches hurts me and leaves bruises for months !

Those who know me will know I’m always covered in bruises.

Despite this I continue to work as a midwife , have my own business and am a mummy to two beautiful boys .

This surgery will truly be life changing for me and the boys .

I am currently taking part in two genetic trials in the hopes of identifying the cause of lipoedema and my actual legs feature on the nhs website if you search for Lipoedema .
