Weʼve raised £1,168 to give to Charlie, who was verbally assaulted whilst shopping by a disgraceful fan who is a disgrace to the game and his club.

Story
As a lot of you will know, a video has come to light showing a young man being verbally abused for wearing a Derby County shirt in Nottingham.
Yes the lad seems to have disabilities which does make it worse, however I feel that this behaviour shouldn't be allowed in the modern game anyway.
To single out a person and try and get cheap laughs is despicable and most of you ha e already agreed and offered to donate to the lad we now think we know as Charlie.
Therefore any donations you would like to make will be appreciated and let's get it to him so he can kit himself out in whatever Derby stuff he wants and be allowed to show his support without prejudice.

6 years agoI have now made contact with Charlie's dad. After purchasing Charlie the new kit and getting his name printed, it is the request of the family that the rest of the money goes to Umbrella. A charity that works with Charlie and his family to arrange trips. They have expressed their deep gratitude and thank everyone. They have also requested that the video be took down so that they can forget this ordeal. I also want to tell you all how greatly appreciative I am to everyone who helped me help Charlie. It really does restore your faith. Cheers.

As someone who has a brother with a learning disability I found this video of Charlie being treated so dreadfully deeply upsetting. You’ve restored my faith in human nature. God bless you
