Story
Who is Behind Project Ghana?
The Community Services Department of The South England Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church have created an amazing opportunity to travel to Ghana from 30th March - 11th April 2018.
Why Am I Going?
For many years now, it has been my dream to go to Ghana. I have always wanted to visit - not only to learn more about ancestry and to immerse myself in the culture, but also to give back in a practical way. I am passionate about making a real difference and supporting those who truly need it. Project Ghana is the perfect opportunity for me to utilise my skills and volunteer for a great cause. This trip is no ordinary mission trip, there are specific plans in place that are set to have a positive influence on local communities.
The Main Outline of The Trip
This mission trip will commence in Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle, where many slaves begun their toilsome journey and were held captive within the confinements of dark, treacherous cells. We will also have the opportunity to visit other museums and key landmarks, which will help us gain more insight on Ghanaian history and heritage.
As a volunteer in Ghana, I will travel to my assigned group in Ada or Kumasi to help renovate a community library and regenerate a maternity/children’s ward in Kwadaso SDA Hospital. There will also be a campaign running throughout one week of the trip, where we will offer free health screenings. It will also be an opportunity to share the gospel in diverse ways (through teaching, singing, etc), as well as a chance to provide practical and emotional support to the local community.
How Will Your Donations Help?
Your donation will enable me to pay for the overall cost of this trip (inclusive of flights, accommodation, food and visa fees). Going on this mission trip to Ghana also allows me to participate in the project of a lifetime that will leave a lasting impact not only on myself, but also on those we encounter along the way.
There are many things that we often take for granted in the UK, simply because we are so used to them being readily available to us. However, my mission is to offer my time and hard efforts to this project, so that the disadvantaged in Ghana can have access to some of the luxuries we have.
In addition to re-painting and re-structuring, part of the renovations will include the installation of computers. These will serve as key learning aids to improve the skills of the children and their overall advancement. Additionally, it will enhance their future prospects - both academically and professionally. Providing computers, as well as building under-bed storage units, will also ensure that this hospital is better equipped to accommodate the high volumes of pregnant women who are often turned away due to a lack of resources and space.
After Project Ghana
Once I return from Ghana, I will be sharing my experiences and photos of what we managed to accomplish as a team. I know how beneficial the trip will be, and I am sure that seeing the difference your donations were able to make will be even more rewarding for you too.

Time is of the essence! In order to go on this trip, I need to raise the funds by Wednesday 7th March 2018.
Finally, I would really appreciate if you could donate as much as you can to help me reach or even exceed this target! Any additional funds raised will go towards furthering this cause.
Thank you in advance & God bless.
