    Story

    Hi all,

As a tribute to my late best friend Kieron, whose death has left a huge hole in my life, I am determined to get my script I have written made into a feature film.

With the help and support of my good friend at Improvise Films LTD, a small local indie film production company with award winning titles under their belt, the journey has begun.

The script is written and we are casting roles and looking for locations, making this important project inspired by true events come to life.

    Inspired by true events

This film will cover the often ignored and deeply important subject of suicide and was inspired by true events. Our aim is for the film to raise awareness with genuine honesty and do justice to those who have knowledge in the subject matter along with doing our best to educate those who do not. This is not a film about suicide, however this is about the trail of devastation it leaves after someone has taken this tragic path. Highlighting the terrible knock on effect it has on the people left behind from one person’s troubled act. Writing this incredible story has helped me along my own journey of depression beyond anything else and my hope is it will help answer the call of others who are desperately in search of support, to think that this film may one day help change someone’s mind or make them think of the family and friends that they would leave behind and how it destroys them, that is the driving force behind this huge struggle and sacrifice to get this film made.

    Film Synopsis

Life After is a story that is inspired from true events which follows the lives of four main characters; James, Lee, Kayla and Charlotte. This films main purpose is to highlight the devastating and delicate situation of suicide but the film itself is not about the suicide it is about the trail of devastation it leaves after someone has taken this tragic path. The film will tell the story of James to the point he is no longer with us and then will follow on with what happens to the friends and family who are left in the wake of James’ actions

    Where we are now?

We have now shot over 80% of Life After but we still need funds for actors, musicians and locations

The first teaser trailer was shown at our fundraising event on the 19th May, then released on the 20th May and we will have one a week for a total of eight weeks highlighting how suicide affects others mental wellbeing.

We started shooting on the 19th July and have been busy shooting to bring Life After together. We have been working with an amazing cast and we believe we couldn't have chosen a better cast. We still have a few locations to find for instance the hospital as this has been our most challenging location.

With your help we can keep shooting the final scenes of Life After and have our feature film complete for private screenings hopefully by the end of the year and ready to submit to film festivals by the new year.

We hope to be able to take this to charities, colleges and other places to help raise awareness of suicide and most importantly to help prevent it in the future

    Support we have so far

Recently we have been working alongside our local Mind charity, South East and Central Essex Mind. We are proud to be helping our local community by helping raise funds for our local Mind. We hope that we can raise awareness for what Mind do and help them raise more funds in our process of this film and also in hosting more charity events and helping them raise awareness for themselves. If you would like to help us and Mind you will find funding options where we donate to South East and Central Essex Mind. We also plan on helping with some filming to help promote what they do as they haven't been able to get the funding for this aspect of advertisement, please help us to help them.

    The Bearded Villains Essex Chapter

Bearded Villains Essex Chapter was started as part of beardedvillainsuk in 2015 and in 2018 we was made an official chapter of Bearded Villains which was started by @von_knox to change the way people see bearded men. We all work instilling the mission statement of bearded villains.

"To unite Bearded Men of all cultures, races and creed in a Brotherhood devoted to Loyalty, Honor and Respect toward all people, Dedicated to the betterment of mankind through fraternity, charity and kindness".

The Essex chapter are small in numbers but we make up in the things we do to give back to charities.

With our captain Drewbiddles we are looking to fully develop how we give back, looking into local charities in the Essex area which will benefit the most from the money we raise

Why we want to make the film?

We wish to be able to take this to organisations such as Mind, Samaritans and CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) and work alongside them in the incredible work they continue to do. We believe our film could help raise awareness for them and many people in a huge way and in turn save more lives.

    Why Donate?

Any money we raise will go towards props, equipment, locations for the film and paying the cast and crew and musicians for the musical scores. Entirely for production costs, nothing else.

This is a very serious topic we believe is often not covered honestly or is overlooked too quickly, swept under a rug so to speak. That in itself is almost as big a crime as the tragic subject matter itself. We want this film to be realistic and honest, avoiding making it either overdramatic or dancing around the subject matter in an attempt to sugar coat the reality of it. I know deep down this is a topic that people care about, but sadly it is also a topic that is not given the attention it so desperately needs.

What will you get in return?

Any contribution would greatly be appreciated, every £1 will greatly help more than you may ever know.

We have a few donation options where if you donate the amount of that option we will make a donation to South East and Central Essex Mind who although operate under Mind Charity, have to raise funds for themselves.

Everyday lives are lost unnecessarily. Together we can do something about it.

    Locations

A location we wish to use with the money we raise is West London Film Studios, The Hospital Location. With this location, this will help the doctors and hospital scenes be as realistic as possible.

We also have other venues in mind for scenes such as a music venue and a coffee shop.

    The Cast

We are specifically picking cast members who truly want to get involved, have experienced elements of the story first hand and who can relate to the topic with honesty and integrity. So far we have some wonderful people on board who all want this to be as realistic and relatable as possible so the audience will have a real connection and a realisation of how terribly destructive departing from the world in this way really is to everyone who will forever wish you were still here.
